Rumours and Reality:
Few sites took references from books which were written after 250-300 years after Happenings. Those books were written by outsiders.
They were not Indian or Punjabis. Many rumours imposed in history to sectify sikhism. Some books are Crooke, W., The Tribes and Castes of the North Western India. Delhi, 1974, Ibbetson, Denzil, A Glossary of the Tribes and Castes of the Punjab and North-West Frontier
Province. Patiala, 1970.
In these books outsider written in books that descendants of Bhai Gangu Shah (Baba Gang Dass) do not strictly observe the Sikh custom and follow code of conduct.
All Gurudwaras built by descendants of Bhai Gangu Shah (Baba Gang Dass) are under the auspice of Guru Granth Sahib. This is the main and prior conduct in sikhism.
Which is strictly followed by descendants of Bhai Gangu Shah (Baba Gang Dass).
100-200 years ago, There were no source of education in the villages where descendants of Bhai Gangu Shah (Baba Gang Dass) built Gurudwaras.
At that time there were earthen Gurudwaras like a simple traditional house. No electricity there. That was the main reason Guru Granth Sahib was not Enlightened in some Gurudwaras of villages and in remote area.
In a book a falsehood was written that descendants of Bhai Gangu Shah (Baba Gang Dass) were excommunicated by Khalsa. It was clear falsehood.
if any excommunication is to be done then Akal Takht had/has the right to punishment or excommunication to anyone. There was nothing like this happened from Akal Takht Sahib.
Moreover many descendants of Bhai Gangu Shah (Baba Gang Dass) are khalsa (took Kahnde di phaul). Most of the management members have been took Khande di phaul and become khalsa.
Baba Waryam Singh (Ratwara Sahib wale) preached sikhism in remote area of Ropar district and Andandpur Sahib area. In his kirtan's recording Baba Waryam Singh (Ratwara Sahib wale) clearly said this area was surrounded by rivers and rivulets and there
were not good sources for transportation, Not even good roads, Not sufficient bridges. That was the reason no saint had been visited in this area for approximately 300 years for Preaching the sikh maryada.
After visits for preaching sikhism by Baba Waryam Singh (Ratwara Sahib wale) in the surrounding villages of Ropar and Anandpur Sahib area, many villagers got aware about khande di phaul.
After that Jathedar Baba Labh Singh (Kar Seva, Qila Anandgarh, Anandpur Sahib) built many bridges in surrounding villages of Anandpur Sahib, so the transport become easy over the satluj river and rivulets.
These efforts helped a lot for common people and any program for preaching can be held easily in any village.
Now a days times have changed surrounding of Anandpur Sahib and other areas where descendants of Bhai Gangu Shah (Baba Gang Dass) preaching Sikhism under the auspice of Guru Granth Sahib.
Better Education, Better transport, Better sources, Better communication which rejects rumours and falsehood wriiten in books like Crooke, W., The Tribes and Castes of the North Western India. Delhi, 1974, Ibbetson, Denzil, A Glossary of the Tribes and Castes of the Punjab and North-West Frontier
Province. Patiala, 1970.
